Every breed, and why it is on the list.

23 breeds, each with its own page: the mechanism that makes it vulnerable, the published odds where they exist, whether it can swim, the gear that earns its place, the daily care its anatomy needs, and the risks particular to it. Same data the app scores your dog with — not a rewrite for the web.

The evidence behind the ranking

Hall, Carter & O'Neill 2016, VetCompass analysed UK primary-care veterinary records covering more than 900,000 dogs and reported the odds that a dog of each breed had ever presented with heat-related illness, measured against the Labrador Retriever.

The odds are for whether a dog of that breed ever presented with heat-related illness. They set the RANKING; they are not a multiplier on how long a dog may be outside, and the app never uses them as one.

Not on the list?

Every other dog gets the same model.

The breed table changes the starting multiplier, not whether the app works. For a mix or a breed not here, setup asks the two questions that matter — whether the muzzle is short, and how they breathe — and an unsure answer always resolves toward the cautious reading.
